St. Charles Singles Club – Staten Island

 St. Charles Singles was started in November, 1986. The club provides singles, ages 25 , an opportunity to meet and socialize with other singles in a casual setting. At present, the age of the majority ranges from mid-thirties to mid-fifties; however all are welcome.

The club holds its meetings in the St, Charles's School Auditorium which is located at 200- Penn Avenue off Hylan Boulevard, one block in from Tysens Lane Staten Island, NY. The meetings begins at 8:00 p.m. There is an admission fee for non-members of $4.00 which is collected at the door. Meetings are usually between 1 to 1 1/2 hours long. The first part of the meetings are set aside for singles to mingle with each other. It is an opportunity to get to know one another while having refreshments. Upcoming events and any other business matters are discussed during the second half of the meetings. New ideas are always welcome.

St. Charles Singles Club is a non-profit organization run by its members for its members. The club has a board of five members who are elected by their membership. Therefore, membership is a privilege; however not a requirement. Members pay an annual dues of $25.00 which is prorated so that one can join any time throughout the year. The benefits awarded to members are free admission to the monthly meetings, voting privileges, a monthly newsletter mailed to them if they could not attend the meeting, and discounts at major events, such as the Annual Picnic. and Anniversary Dinner. Attendance at meetings are not a requirement but it does show support to those who give so much of their time to make the club a success. New members are always welcome!

The mission of the St. Charles Singles Club is to provide a safe and casual evironment for singles to meet with others who may share commom interests. Respect for one another is the only requirement. The club's goal is to have fun while making new friends. Events such as Karaoke, Dinner and Dancing, Movies, Bowling, and Day Trips are planned; and newsletters, with all the details, are distributed at meetings and mailed to members who can not attend. Each person joins for his/her reasons, however, because of this club, many new friendships have been formed, old friendships have blossomed, and 30 marriages have taken place. So, although St. Charles Singles Club is not a dating service, it does provide the means and opportunity to meet that special someone.
